Common Questions

You're probably wondering…

Quick answers to what families ask us most. Don't see your question? Call or text and we'll answer it directly.

How do I know if I qualify for Medicaid IHS or CDS?

Missouri Medicaid IHS and CDS are available to individuals who meet financial eligibility and have a documented need for help with daily living. We help you figure out eligibility at no cost — usually in a single phone call — and if you qualify, we'll walk you through the application.

Can a family member be paid as my caregiver?

Yes — through Consumer Directed Services (CDS), you can choose a family member (with some exceptions, like spouses) as your paid caregiver. We handle the enrollment, training, scheduling, and payroll paperwork so your family can focus on care.

What's the difference between IHS and CDS?

IHS provides trained caregivers from our agency. CDS lets you choose, train, and direct your own caregiver — often a family member. Both are Missouri Medicaid programs and cover similar services (APC, PCS, Homemaker Chores, Respite).

What VA benefits do you accept?

We work with eligible Veterans through VA in-home support programs covering Personal Care Services (PCS), Homemaker Chores (HC), and Respite Care (RC). If you're a Veteran and unsure what you qualify for, we'll help you find out.

Do you accept Long Term Care insurance?

Yes. If you have an LTC policy, we'll help you understand what it covers and bill the policy directly. LTC insurance typically covers Personal Care, Companion Care, and Respite.

How much does Private Pay cost?

Private Pay rates depend on the services you need and the number of hours per week. We'll give you a clear, transparent quote during your free consultation — no hidden fees, no long-term commitments.

How quickly can care start?

Private Pay can often start within a few days. Medicaid and VA programs require enrollment first, which usually takes a few weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront.

What areas of Kansas City do you serve?

We serve seven Missouri counties — Platte, Clay, Ray, Jackson, Lafayette, Cass, and Johnson — covering cities including Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, Liberty, Blue Springs, Belton, Raymore, Warrensburg, and many more. See the Locations page for the full breakdown by city and ZIP.
